IB DIPLOMA PROGRAM

  • From August 2019 the following courses, with first assessment in May 2021, will be available:

    • Mathematics: analysis and approaches SL
    • Mathematics: analysis and approaches HL
    • Mathematics: applications and interpretation SL
    • Mathematics: applications and interpretation HL

    Students can only study one course in mathematics.

    The aims of these courses are to enable students to:

    • develop mathematical knowledge, concepts and principles
    • develop logical, critical and creative thinking
    • employ and refine their powers of abstraction and generalization.

Topics covered through the course

The five areas below are covered during the IB math courses. There is a core set of topics for each area.

  • Number and Algebra
  • Functions
  • Geometry and Trigonometry
  • Probability and Statistics
  • Calculus

In addition to this the course contains investigative and inquiry-based learning, supporting the students in their internally assessed exploration task.
